Hello Team 17!
Mike Hubbard here for Week 3 ...
So it’s the 14th of February and you think you have nailed it! A box of chocolates, a bunch of flowers or something more exciting. You are now a mirror of cupid themself.
Love is for more than just one day, once a year.
What if I said, “Showing love is more than just a moment once a year”, and then I asked you to think about the people you spend the most time with. If you are lucky, your answer will be your family. If you are still working a fair size week, your answer might just well be those you work with!
Ok, now we have someone in mind, I want you to think about the language and thoughts you have about those people and how you talk to them.
If it’s at work, what words do you use with your team and colleagues? What did you think of their new project?
At home, has your partner cooked your favourite dishes (my list has 17 on it). How do you say "Thank you"?
Do you tell them their work or cooking; “will do the job”, “is good” or “ok”? or worse NOTHING!
How does that person feel; they have just spent an hour/day/week creating a masterpiece and it’s OK.
Try something new this week
My invite to you is to wield the L-word. Yeah, use the word LOVE! Swap it into your vocabulary as well as all its friends (amazed, blown away, wowed, to name a few).
Now you…
Love that project you have just been shown
Wowed by how someone just nailed a tough conversation
Blown away by the Sunday Roast
Go on, give it a go, you might just LOVE IT.
