It ended up being for everyone.
I used to be terrible at time management.
Blaming everything other than myself for my busyness.
Then I decided to do something about it and signed up for a course.
Not to be beaten, I bought some books.
It was hard work to read them never mind use the ideas.
These books were written for people who were already organised. I needed a time management book for disorganised entrepreneurs.
It didn’t exist, so I spent the next two years creating a two-day course.
Obviously, the people who needed it didn’t have the time to attend.
The course went through two further iterations (full day and half-day) before I knocked it on the head.
I replaced it with an audio programme. That worked – hooray.
The next step was to pitch to my publisher. They liked the book but didn’t like my marketing idea.
I wanted to guarantee the outcome. Read the book, use the ideas and if you don’t save an hour every day, you’ll be given your money back.
My publisher said they wouldn’t do it.
So I did.
We launched the book with the 100% guarantee (underwritten by the author), a PR campaign (expensive and disastrous) and a belief that we could save readers millions of hours (which we did).
How to save an hour every day became my most translated work. It’s available everywhere. It still sells through and I use the ideas every day.
What’s your idea?
I’m hosting a free webinar on July 18th called Words Change Worlds.
I’ll share how you could write a book that will positively influence readers' lives.
