There's a book which has sold 18 million copies and is described as obvious.
I bet you've browsed the bookshop shelves and thought, ‘Who buys this stuff?’ Followed by, ‘My idea is better than that’.
I know I have.
Here's the thing.
Obvious to you and I may not be obvious to them.
As a writer, it's not your job to create unique.
It's your job to write what your readers want to read.
And I'm not talking about selling out and being commercial (as tempting as that may be).
I've recorded a short video [52 seconds] which points out (in the most obvious way) why you shouldn't be original.
I also identify the book that sold 18 million copies.
