In 1848, James W Marshall discovered gold at Sutter’s Mill in Colomoa, California.
Prospectors in their thousands (300,000!) were drawn to the heart of the action. The Gold Rush!
Some panned rivers, others just started digging, a few blew up mountains 😳.
And the smart ones invested in working with geologists to discover the most likely place to find a
seam.
If they were lucky, it meant riches beyond their wildest imagination.
Very few of the panners, random diggers or blasters made their fortune.
There was a much higher reward when working with a geologist.
Finding your niche is like discovering a seam of gold.
A ready-made audience who love what you do and more importantly want to be part of it.

In Write That Book, I coached Heather Stevens. She’s
an amazing dog trainer and now a published author.
She wrote a brilliant book called ‘Beyond The Breed’. It’s not a book for dog lovers, or even for dog breeders.
It’s a specialist book for dog trainers. Although anyone who likes dogs loves it.
She was always regarded as an expert. But the moment she published her book she became the authority
[Author-ity].
Heather has received speaking invitations, the opportunity to sell books to groups and is now the go to person in this niche area.
I met up with Heather (and a bunch of other Write That Book Members) on Saturday and she shared how writing her book has transformed her life and her business.
