It was difficult for me to type that headline as I'm known for being a very positive person.
You've heard the BS. Usually screamed by larger-than-life motivational speakers:
‘Winners never quit and quitters never win’.
Yawn.
That's fine if you're in the middle of a triathlon and stopping would be visible. However, it's not the same for writers.
Writers are usually isolated. Working on
their words, in a quiet space with little input from others.
Quitting is easy for writers. Because nobody knows.
On Friday I had several phone calls
with members of my Write That Book Challenge.
I love just picking up the phone and having a chat to find out how members are getting on.
Something that really struck home was the number of times I heard words like, ‘Always wanted to…’, ‘I’ve started so many times’, ‘I’ve been writing this
book off and on for…’
It’s easy to see why writers quit.
What’s the secret sauce that stops the quitting?
Accountability.
I bet you’d write your book and hit your target if you had a book deal, contract and hefty advance.
But here’s the key.
In fact, there’s 5 Keys.
On Monday I’m going to share with you The five keys to publishing every author should know.
If you've already registered that's brilliant. If you haven't then please click on the link below and
join in.
Accountability might just be in there.
And it starts with 60 minutes on Monday night.
