We've had a few technical challenges with our web ordering which has unfortunately meant that some people and haven't been able to book places on Brilliant Life or buy products on-line. We were hit by gremlins this week (internet security certificate, yawn). But I guess we've all had those Gremlin attacks - you know - those technical challenges which are out of your control but affect your customer service?
Well you can get mad or fix it, say sorry and move on.
Here are Michael's five tips to make the most of a Gremlin attack.
1) Say sorry to everyone (even the people it may not have affected) quickly - and mean it.
2) Don't blame anyone. The Gremlins affect everyone - if you blame a person for not doing x, y or z you can guarantee it will be your turn next week.
3) Don't get frustrated get fascinated. Ask 'What have we learned'
4) Diary the solution for next time. Our problem was the security certificate ran out on our website. We've diarised a check now once a year, every year for ever.
