Aren't halves funny?
It's one of those words where the more you say it the less it seems like a real word. Go on, say it ten times.
Although a very precise measurement we use 'half' to describe general situations; 'It was only half as good', 'I'll half it with you' and 'half hearted' spring to mind.
Using the word 'half' is often associated with the negative - time to change that one!
A business colleague of mine said to me yesterday, 'We spend the first half of the year trying to make money and the second half trying to hold on to it!' What are you focusing on?
Here's a challenge for you. Take half an hour in the next day to answer six simple questions. The first half focuses on the last six months the second half are about the next.
