Last week I took an interesting photograph of a member of staff who works for East Coast railway. I really wanted to publish this picture as a warning of what you should NEVER do in public. However, having taken legal advice (thank you Facebook & Twitter friends) I have decided not to publish the picture but I still feel compelled to pass on the warning.
Arriving at the entrance to Kings Cross Station, (the one opposite to St Pancras) Christine said, 'Take a look at him'. Here's where I'd love to publish the photograph and save a thousand words, but instead I will have to paint a mental portrait.
Picture a big man aged around 40 wearing the uniform (including hat) of East Coast railway.
In his left hand he has a mobile phone and he's sending a text. OK, no big deal there. In his right hand he's holding a cigarette on which he merrily puffs away. That doesn't do much for the brand and less for how he looks. Now you have the basic image brace yourself for the kicker. He was slumped in a wheelchair (obviously meant to be used by less able bodied passengers) surveying the taxi rank like a king on his throne.
You get one chance to make a first impression. Welcome to Kings Cross. Welcome to East Coast! Welcome to the UK!!
