You're worth it!

I had a fascinating but slightly disturbing conversation with a senior person from a university recently. We were chatting about this being the last year before they could raise their fees to £9,000 per year.

When I asked 'Why do you want to do that?' the reply was simply, 'Because we can'.
Nothing about increased value, amazing quality of education or anything to make me think, go for it - you deserve it!

My daughter plans to go to University next year (after a well earned gap year) and as a parent I'm looking forward to visiting University open days in the next few months. I want to ask about return on investment, levels of service and guarantees that the £27,000+ investment will get great value.

TripAdvisor must be the best friend and worst enemy of the hotel trade - if you're a frequent traveller I bet you use it.

Now here's a thought. For any business, there will be a website that comes along that - like TripAdvisor - is capable of rating and comparing your service. Whether you're an accountant, teacher, work in the public service, anything, it IS coming (if it's not already in existence). This means you WILL be rated by the people you serve, anonymously and with exaggeration of all your good and bad points.
