I'm writing this newsletter on 4th July 2012 and you're reading it on the 2nd August 2012. I'm doing this because Alastair, who works as our Communications Manager, is off to Africa. He wanted me to write a newsletter in advance so he could set it up on an auto-send while he was away. Risky. Here's the thing. Writing a newsletter in advance is a bit of an oxymoron, especially a whole month in the future. So I've taken a chance and thought I'd make five predictions. Read on to see how well I've done. 1. The sun eventually shone in the UK but we're still waiting for the promised heat-wave. 2. The Olympic Opening Ceremony was amazing, but the 'popular' press and the naysayers pulled it apart. 3. There's been even more trouble with the banks (easy one this as it's a weekly event). 4. A pop/reality TV/movie star has done/said/been photographed doing something which has taken up more column inches than all the catastrophes which are taking place around the world and affecting millions. Sad. 5. You're still putting something off that you know you should have done months ago but you're making excuses as to why you haven't done it yet. Other than the weather, it's pretty easy to make predictions about what life may be like for the next few weeks. Especially as many of the same old events do re-occur. But what about number 5? Is that you? Maybe when everyone is slowing down this August you could ramp things up, get started and move ahead of the curve? Enjoy the rest of your summer. Be Brilliant! Michael |
