...until they know how much you care. It's not my quote, it was said by President Theodore 'Teddy' Roosevelt over 100 years ago, but recently I've found myself using it a lot. For some reason over recent years people have become obsessed about promoting themselves by bragging about their technical expertise, level of investment and a dozen other measures which sound impressive but to a customer simply mean 'So what'. Who wants to stay in a five star hotel where the staff are efficient but uncaring and cold? Who wants to visit a dentist with 30 letters after their name but who doesn't know how to make you relax? Who wants IT support from someone who knows all the latest gizmos and software updates but has no idea what your business does? I could go on, but you get the idea. Until, your customer knows that you genuinely have their best interests at heart, you care about them first and you'll do whatever it takes to help and support them, don't expect a penny back from them in return.
