Specialist, Generalist or Hybrid?

The Specialist has value. Hard to find and difficult to replace but of limited use when a market changes.

The Generalist is a Jack of all Trades. Good to have around but easier to replace.

The Hybrid is a unique proposition who masters several skills and combines a honed skill-set to secure the very best outcomes. A Hybrid is invaluable and irreplaceable.

The specialist physician with amazing talent but no bedside manner will find it difficult to treat patients.

The office worker who can do most things adequately struggles to be awarded a pay rise or promotion.

The Hybrid, with a mix of talents, is self-motivated, understands that learning is for life, constantly pushes and adds more value.

A fantastic personal trainer, who knows how to market themselves, will build a better business.

A builder who's studied the basics of design can charge far more than a jobbing brickie.

A cab driver with a clean car, good manners and abundant local knowledge will have more bookings and bigger tips than a sloth who waits at the rank.

How can you be a Hybrid?

Be Brilliant!
