Some authors compare their book being published with giving birth.

The final push being publication day. A mixture of pain and relief.

I used to get very excited about publication days. And in the past I've been guilty of over egging the pudding on such days - desperately offering incentives and trying to bump my work up the Amazon charts.

I'm a little more relaxed these days.

But I still want you to buy my new book.

It's the 10th anniversary edition of How to Be Brilliant

My publishers describe it as 're-booted'.

I just knew it needed a face-lift and a pep talk.

So, among other re-boots, I updated the chapter on the four most important words you must use to encourage someone to help you do something. That's on Page 81.

The piece about how to achieve a perfect work/life balance needed to be brought up to date.

A lot has changed since 2004 you can read that on Page 9.

I changed my mind about how people should set goals and revised the whole chapter. This was huge, but I feel more confident than ever that I'm sharing the perfect goal setting (and achieving) formula. It's on Page 39.

Of course, I've left in some of the classic sections. Like how to be a brilliant dad on Page 54 and the Five Characteristics of Brilliant People on Page 14

But I had to take out some of the ideas that felt tired and replace them with fresh new thinking.

Like a Ten Years On section at the end of most chapters, and a new section about how I 'fibbed' my way to a book deal.

And for the first time, How to Be Brilliant has an index for quick reference so that you can quickly get to the bits you want when you want them.  Five pages of glorious indexing starting on Page 165.

You can pick up a copy at WH Smiths Travel (airports and stations) and most other bookstores.

If you'd like to order from Amazon you can do it here:

as a paperback

or here as a Kindle download

or here as a Pearson eBOOK

It's available in other formats too, they're just a Google search away.

How to Be Brilliant is ten years old and an international bestseller in every sense. It has been translated into 22 languages, it's available in 80 countries and it's used as the go-to personal development book for thousands of people.

Here's what a couple of readers, who you may recognise, say about it.

'Pull up your socks and dismiss self-doubt to reach your potential. Feel a little lost or a bit deflated? I recommend this book whole heartedly.'

Sara Cox, BBC Radio 2 DJ and Presenter

'The realisation that good is no longer good enough will positively change you and transform your business for ever.'

Jonathan Raggett, MD Red Carnation Hotels and Hotelier of the Year

'There are many ways to be average but only one to be brilliant. Michael Heppell knows the difference and he'll show you how.'

Patrick Kielty, Comedian

'I enjoyed Michael Heppell's How To Be Brilliant so much I asked him to be my Coach'

Simon Woodroffe OBE, Founder of YO! Sushi and Yotel

There are over 70 reviews to peruse on Amazon too.

Tomorrow I'm going to share with you the biggest mistake I made when writing and how it nearly cost me my publishing contract.

Be Brilliant!

Buy the new book, and if you don't think the new edition is worth every penny then I'll buy it from you.

I'm feeling confident ;) M
