On Saturday morning I was up early - very early.
I could be a bigger fan of getting up early on any day, but
particularly on a Saturday...
I was due a day off, but had promised to do an intro for a friend's event. Being the type of person I am, I wanted to be organised and there early.
As I hopped out of my car I felt a slight tug on my jacket.and ping, a button flew through the air and rolled across the concrete car park.
I have to tell you, I was a little bit peeved. When I'm
travelling I always have a sewing kit (and mega-wife) with me.
This was local. It was me, on my tod.
With the button safely in my pocket, I walked into the hotel Reception area and saw my friend and event organiser Paul wildly gesticulating with the Reception staff.
He'd booked the wrong venue.
Actually he'd booked the right venue but told the
delegates, 120 of them, the wrong hotel.
The result was a mad dash across town, booking and paying for 30 taxis, a late start and potentially some very unhappy delegates.
It made my button loss seem insignificant.
I think the lesson is; no matter what's going on in your life, someone somewhere is dealing with bigger problems and tougher times.
And they're probably just getting on with it...
Be Brilliant!
