We were driving into Hexham en route to the Garden Centre. Yes, I know how to live it up.
The pavement was packed with people, all peering over the bridge.
Some were pointing. Many were taking photographs. We were in the
car and couldn't see what was going on.
My curiosity took over. Sod the Garden Centre, we're joining the gathering.
Five minutes later we were part of the crowd, gasping, cheering and sighing.
What was the cause of all the commotion?
Salmon. Well, more accurately, leaping salmon.
It was amazing. Time after time
they tried.
Time after time they failed, getting knocked back by the force and flow of the river Tyne.
But the crowd were in awe, routing for the flapping fishies; the desire to move upstream to the spawning grounds driving them to try over and over again.
And every so often one would make it. Hooray!
They know their purpose. They're on a mission.
There is no plan B.
Not a bad way to set goals. And a lot more powerful than a 'To Do' list.
When you know your purpose it's easy to set your goal and highly likely you'll achieve it.
Be Brilliant!
