Getting Ready For Lockdown
It looks almost certain that we (UK) will have lockdown in the coming days.
You will have read lots of advice, apologies if you know what I'm sending today, but if this email helps a few people it’s worth sending.
Fear and Faith
It’s natural be fearful at this time. It’s a likely reaction that words like ’lockdown’ can instil dread.
But we can also have faith. Faith that after winter comes summer. Faith that we can handle this. Faith that people are good.
Slow Down
Stephen Fry spoke on the BBC at the weekend about slowing down. It’s important that we look after our mental health and doing things more slowly and thoughtfully can make a difference.
Be Grateful
Keep up your grateful list. Each day write a few things you are grateful for.
Learn
Use this time to learn. Remember those books you bought which you, ‘must get round to reading’?
Keep Trading
If you are in business, see if you can keep selling.
Reach Out
If you know someone who has business who has had to stop trading, reach out and let them know you’re behind them and you will support them.
Choose Your Inputs
Surround yourself with positive influences. I’m amazed by the incredible positivity of people on my How To Be Brilliant Facebook group.
I’m doing live videos most days and the group are filling the feed with ideas, support, positivity and good humour.
We’ve created and launched today a virtual book club, with a free download of a classic personal development book and we’re launching Wellness Wednesday this week.
This too will pass - but while we’re waiting, we have choices. Choose well.
It will be defining time for everyone.
Be Brilliant!
