Hi Authors
I hope you're having a brilliant break and doing lots of reading,
writing, eating and drinking!
Our next group session takes place on Tuesday, January
5th at 6pm. And our main focus is on writing.
The joy, the challenge, the ups, the downs. Is writer's block even a
thing? How to find the time, the ideas and the actual words. From crappy first drafts to when to stop editing. We'll cover it all.
And there's a challenge for you too... with prizes!
My goal, from this session, is that no matter where you are, you
become a more confident writer.
Here are your log in
details.

Breakout Room Allocation
We have a possible solution to the challenge of Breakout Rooms not being automatically assigned. If that was you (or you don't want it to be you) you can read the potential solutions at the end of this email.
NEW MASTER'S INTERVIEW
In other (much more exciting) news, a new Master’s Interview has just gone live on Kajabi. It’s with Children’s Author Catherine Emmett, author of King of the Swamp.
Even if you’re not a children’s author, you will learn loads from
Catherine. It’s worth watching just to find out the way she got her agent, the brutal feedback she received and how many books she wrote before her first hit.
I’m really enjoying my time off - just working for a few hours today.
Thank you for just cracking on without me.
Be
Brilliant!
Michael
Breakout Room Allocation
Solutions
We have checked with Zoom about why some people aren’t being automatically assigned to their group and this is a known problem.
They think it happens because of one, or several, of the following
reasons:
Participant isn’t using the latest Zoom Application.
To solve this, go to https://zoom.us/download and download and install the latest Zoom Application. If you are using a phone or tablet download the latest Zoom App from your app store.
Note that’s the ZOOM APPLICATION not just using Zoom on a web page, it's a separate programme.
Participant doesn’t have a Zoom Account linked to the email address assigned to the breakout room:
To solve this just ensure you have a Zoom account registered with your email (USE THE ONE YOU JOINED MASTERCLASS WITH). Go to https://zoom.us/ and try to set up a new account use the email address you are registered to Masterclass with.
If you already have an account, your confirmation email will ratify this.
If you don’t… set one up and use this when you join the next session.
Participant has a security setting which won’t allow the host to pre-assign.
You can change this in your settings in Zoom. Go to ‘In meeting advanced’ and find ‘Breakout room’ then ensure ‘Allow host to assign participants to breakout rooms when scheduling’ is switched on.
Participant isn’t logging in with the correct email address.
Check when you log in that you are using the correct email address to go
with that meeting. You can do this by logging in at Zoom.us at the start of a meeting.
Give those a check, and fingers crossed we should have a smother allocation next week.
