Hi
I’ve had a few emails asking for more ‘how to’ on the Top 3 Mistakes. That's this one if you missed it. Top Three Mistakes New Authors Make
Messages like this one:
‘I really enjoyed the Top 3 Mistakes, Michael. Can you share a little more about asking for help? I have some questions about my book, idea development and how to use social media but I don’t know who to ask. Thank you.’
Writing can be a lonely business.

Imagine you're interested in super-heroes. And your chosen method to meet other comic book buffs is to wander around Birmingham City Centre hoping you will bump into someone who could share Spider Man facts.
It's not looking promising.
Meanwhile, just down the road, at the National Exhibition Centre, Comic-Con 2021 is taking place.
It's packed with thousands of wonderful and weird superhero fans, just like you, who are happy to talk Spider Man, Cat Woman and Moon Boy for hours.
They love it. Some are even dressed as Spider Man.
But even then you still have to make contact and ask the question.
Just hoping for someone to walk up and offer you a random Spidey fact won't work - even if you’re surrounded by fans and experts.
Think of it like this:
Birmingham is the internet.
The NEC is Facebook.
Comic Con is Facebook Groups.
Asking a question is making a post.
There are hundreds of Forums and Groups that specialise in every type of writing.
Some better than others.
Take a look. Ask ‘The Google’ (what my mum calls it) and you'll find some.
If you haven’t joined my How to Be Brilliant group please do it now. I'm biased but it is the best and most supportive you'll find. By far. Click here to join.
When you have joined (or if you have already) make a post. Ask questions. Offer support and advice to others. Become part of the community.
You might even find some Spidey fans.
Be Brilliant!
Michael
