Hi
Here's a wonderful irony. The biggest barrier to starting is as simple as… starting.
Every day, I
receive messages from existing authors wanting to know how to sell more copies of their book...
And from brand-new authors, who want to know what to write.
How
would Kami Rita (most ascents) reply if you asked him how to climb Everest?
He'd say,
‘Start with Snowdon.’
The key word
is start.
As soon as the
wedge of doubt, the procrastination and imposter syndrome mentalities rear their ugly heads - and if you let yourself believe in them - then you may as well quit. The writer game probably isn’t for you.
These negative
states are all real threats.
Any goal which
is worth achieving IS a challenge. And that challenge is real. You need people in your corner.
Next week, my Write That Book Pop-Up group and Challenge opens.
It won't be Everest. It'll be more like a ramble up Ben Nevis – but over 5 days.
Have you signed
up yet?
Over 400 have. That's 400 who have started.
There'll be another Everest (tenuously linked to writing) story heading your way
tomorrow.
For now though, just take that first step. Base camp is
here.
