Hi
I love TEAM17 and what we’ve created over the last 3 years.
You're
recieving this message as you’ve been a loyal member for a long time (over two years in most cases) and I really appreciate the efforts you’ve made in the group.
I value your views and always listen to your suggestions and opinions. A couple of people have highlighted some concerns and I want to talk about the elephant in the room.
Or should I say the authors in the TEAM17 room?
Obviously, Write That Book has been a big focus over the last couple of years. And I’m aware that many writers have joined TEAM17.
They’re excited about publishing their books and this can be a big topic of conversation. It can also be a major SWin that they want to talk about as part of DAY17. And rightly so.
TEAM17 needs the right balance.
Yes, we want to celebrate success, help each other, be accountable, learn and develop. Writing a book does that. But it also feels a bit repetitive when you hear author SWins over and over.
I need to change things up a bit. Make sure the new authors can celebrate their successes, but also
ensure everyone can talk about personal MAP's and what you've achieved.
The next DAY17 is on Friday 17th March at 6pm.
It’s St Patrick’s Day and Red Nose Day.
We’re going to have FUN and I’m going to test a new idea. You’ll be able to choose which breakout room you go into.
There will be allocated breakout rooms. Any SWins 50%, Book SWins 25%, anything but books 25%. I have no idea if this will work, but there is no way to test it without doing it!
I’ve also considered changing posting rules.
One idea I deliberated was to update the rules and ask that ‘book or writing’ related posts are kept to a minimum of only once a week.
But that’s not in the spirit of TEAM17 🤔.
What would be more TEAM17, would be to ask for more varied (non-book related) posts. And to ask YOU - you wonderful, beautiful, human.
To kick this off, could you post a little more in the next
few weeks?
I want to hear about what you're doing. What you need help with. Do you need a contact? Do you have a fitness goal? Have you reached an amazing target at work? Have you started a new venture?
Inspire us!
Please share. It's a safe space and we love talking about everything.
The TEAM17
Facebook Group is our 'common room' and how we engage with each other en mass. It’s been wonderful seeing Dawn Booth, Ian Pilbeam and now Angie Vale go live into the group every day. I feel I know them better.
I'm not asking you do a daily live, just take a few minutes every cpuple of days to post something that will help us connect.
TEAM17 is my focus this year. I want it to grow into a bigger and better community. We do have a wide mix, from the Menopause Café to Public Speaking accountability, Qi Gong to 18:17’s.
Let’s celebrate our diversity and share
more.
My last ever Write That Book Masterclass finished in February, I launched the book and I'm having a break from WTB now.
But this does mean that members of the last Masterclass will want to join TEAM17 to be part of our community. Let’s give
them a brilliant welcome.
I’d love to know your ideas, to help TEAM17 grow.
