It would be remiss of me to not write about a Leap Year when the 29th lands on one of my regular newsletter days.
The next time a Leap Day is on a Thursday will be in 2052.
I’ll be 85 and unsure if I’ll
still be sending you a weekly message.
Here are a couple of fun facts about leap years.
Julius Caesar introduced the concept of leap years in the Roman calendar over 2000 years ago.
The chance of being born on February 29th is about 1 in 1,461. Happy Birthday if that’s you.
On February 29th 1940: Hattie McDaniel became the first African American to win an Academy Award for her role in ‘Gone with the Wind’.
Although Feb 29th 2100 should be a leap year, it won’t be. This is because every 100 years (ish) the leap year is skipped to adjust the Gregorian calendar.
I’m sure there will be lots of motivational social media posts
today encouraging you to ‘Do something amazing with your extra day’.
Of course, there’s no extra day, it’s just a day, but with a lesser-used date.
A different question could be, ‘What amazing things can you do with the 365 days you’re given every
year?’
As always, I'd love you to share your thoughts on this message. You can do so on the online version here.
Be Brilliant!
