You’re out for a meal, but service is slow.
Do you wave at the waiter? Do the funny nod thing to get their attention?
Or do you sit back and wait, hoping someone will come over?
It’s a classic
example of how people operate in life.
Some people make things happen. They’re the ones who’ll call the waiter over, send a follow-up email, initiate the conversation.
These are the action-takers. When things aren’t moving fast enough,
they don’t just sit there - they step in and create momentum.
Then there’s the others - those who let things happen.
They’ll happily wait for the waiter knowing that they will come. Or they’ll trust their email will be answered. They’re patient, calm and
probably live longer.
It’s not that they’re passive, they just believe things will naturally take their course.
Here’s the thing - both types are needed. The key is recognising who you are and when it’s time to switch.
Sometimes, letting things happen is wise. But when you find yourself missing out or feeling stuck, it’s probably time to make it happen.
Which one are you?
And more
importantly, is it time for a change?
